Boulder, Colorado. — The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) announced on November 29 the addition of two new board members to support its pet industry mission.

MFiber Chief Operating Officer Dustin Dover and Morris Packaging Executive Vice President of Business Development Brian Steinwagner have joined the board of directors. Both the raw material supplier MFiber and the sustainable packaging supplier Morris Packaging have worked with PSC.

PSC Executive Director Caitlyn Dudas said: “As the supplier community continues to grow and now accounts for 22% of our total member community, we believe it is important to represent their views at the board level.” “Das Not only did Ting and Brian bring a diversified perspective to our advisory board, but they also fit the mission very well and have been very active as members of the alliance."

In a recent life cycle analysis conducted by PSC, the non-chemically processed fiber component of MFiber from Miscanthus was found to be more environmentally friendly than powdered cellulose. This includes reducing fossil fuel use by 85%, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 87%, and reducing water consumption by 98% compared to powdered cellulose.

"It is an honor to be selected to serve with an outstanding industry leader related to PSC," Dover said. "The work done by the Pet Sustainability Alliance is important to our industry. They have proven themselves to be the number one leader in all areas of sustainability. I believe my representative on the supply side will be helpful because of long-term sustainability. It must start with raw materials and supplies. I am very happy to start working."

According to PSC, Morris Packaging is the first packaging supplier to bring post-consumer resin (PCR) and recyclable packaging to the market.

"It is a great honor to be invited to join the PSC family," Steinwagner said. "I look forward to continuing the legacy of the current and past leadership that has begun and continues to grow."
